Couldn't connect from office

Post by hemag » Wed Sep 26, 2012 5:01 am

First of all Thanks for the very usefull stuff. from my personal laptop I was successfully connect through ssh using putty but from office PC i couldn't ssh to Linuxzoo.net. It shows error "unable to open connection to linuxzoo.net Host does not exist "
I'm sure telnet is restricted in office but not sure why ssh not working?
In the list of connection methods I am able to connect through JScript Telnet only but its not feasible

Any help to connect to linuxzoo.net from office PC through ssh?

Hi
Without going to your office it is hard to say what the problem is.
Did you ssh to linuxzoo.net? Did u mistype the name?
Did you boot your virtual machine first?
But to me it is most likely you have a firewall blocking ssh...
Why not ask your local support people?
If you have java installed you can always use java vnc.
Sorry I couldn't help more.

On the very front page is the instructions for connecting via vnc to fedora 15...
Run intro1, click on create demo account button, and log in with username demo and password demo.

Thank you very much for your quick return, Mr. G!

Last thought: shouldn't using "-i" be desirable? It matches X more words than not using it, and also meet the requirements of what is asked on the question.. How do you feel about it? (changing the answer ;)

Have a great weekend! And thank you for putting up with me :D
Best regards,
