Problem to connect to the site system

Post by fmj1988 » Mon Oct 20, 2014 2:04 pm

I'm trying to use the linuxzoo.net to enter the Queue.

usually show this message after click on login:

Software error:

Wide character in subroutine entry at SA/Core.pm line 416.
For help, please send mail to the webmaster (me@grussell.org), giving this error message and the time and date of the error.

I'm new at this, but I did a successfully connect yesterday and a few time after the site gave me this error.
One problem solution that I found was create a new account, that allowed me to use for a few time but when I tried to connect again (on site) same error.

sorry my poor English.
thx

Thats an unusual problem which I have not had before.
The line in linuxzoo with the error is to do with encoding or checking passwords.
These are composed of your password, and a seed of your other details, such as email address, username, lastname, etc.
Perhaps one of those things (e.g. your name or your password) has a UTF8 character in it (something not in the ASCII table)?

Maybe you could check it again? I have added in code at this point which should handle any UTF8 characters by encoding them into octets before use.
Hopefully this solves your problem...
Kind Regards
Gordon.
