Tutorial 4, Q9

Post by dechandler10 » Thu Aug 30, 2012 8:52 am

I'm thoroughly confused here.

The question:
What umask setting would be required to give, when creating a directory, read/write/execute for yourself, read and execute for group, but only execute for others?
Would that not be 751 or 0751?
no setgid = 0
rwx = 4+2+1 = 7
rx = 4+1 = 5
x = 1

Thanks

See http://linuxzoo.net/page/sec_umask.html
Remember this is a umask question not chmod.
