Re: Caine Tuts - Question 1
Sorry the question works for most other people. Does mydir1 have newinfo1 in it? As you don't say what you did or show what you have it is really hard to help. The auto marker is not 100% accurate in general, but for this question I expect the problem is operator error... Either you misunderstood th...

Re: Pipes - Question 10
Column 5 is the size so what is column 8 being used for?
The n goes after the first number not the last.
Descending is numbers getting smaller as the list goes on.
A few little confusions with sort but nearly there.

Re: The tests could not be completed.
I could not replicate this error, but I have made a configuration change into the tutorial system which should ignore known host key checking in the future.
I suspect this will have fixed the problem.
Let me know if it reoccurs.
Gordon.

Never seen that error from the library but I recognise the problem.
I will fix this tomorrow and update the post when fixed....
Sorry about that.

Re: Cannot Connect
HI Too many users have in the past tried to use the linuxzoo machines as a platform to launch attacks against other machines in the internet. I unfortunately had to admit defeat in trying to prevent this in a friendly way, and ultimately I had to block almost all outbound traffic. You should be able...

Re: For those getting "Unexpectedly Disconnected from Server
For SSH the system works out the virtual machine you wish to connect to from your own IP. If two of you are on the same IP then the system has no chance of working out which SSH should go where, and so SSH is disabled. This should be indicated in the control panel with a cryptic warning "shared ip m...

Re: Tutorial 7 Question 8
A directory without execute is useless. This was a tutorial question in a previous tutorial... The question is checking that you understood that. If you need the question to tell you this then the point was not understood. Note the questions are tied to the lectures I give at my University... I just...

Re: Tutorial 5 Question 14
No idea what you are using for size.
The default size uses blocks, and it tells you to use the number 2000.
Larger is when you put a plus sign with the number, eg -size +2000
Hope that helps
Gordon.
